With the support of Strategic Approach to International Chemical Management (SAICM) Sustainable Agriculture and Environment Development Association (SAEDA) organized its first project inception workshop in Hadxaifong district, Vientiane Capital, August 14 chaired by Mr. Kene Vorasane, vice district governor of Hadxaifong district to disclose its project goal and objectives to project counterparts and representatives of the target villages.
To this workshop attended by 14 representatives from the key provincial concerned officials such as Department of Agriculture and Forestry,; Department of Natural Resources and Environment; Department of Public Health, Vientiane Capital; Office of Agriculture and Forestry; Office of Natural Resource and Environment; Office of Public Health of Hadxaifong district as well as village authorities from five target villages.
SAEDA’s co-director, Mr. ThongdamPhongphichit explained key elements of sustainable agriculture versus conventional agriculture while district vice-governor emphasized on critical use of pesticides by farmers of the target project sites. He also called farmers of such project sites for pesticides use reduction as much possible.
